Music has been an important part of my life for many years. I have played the flute throughout high school, and I am currently a member of Northwood High School’s top concert ensemble, Wind Symphony, where I also serve as a flute section leader in the marching band. I also played in jazz band for three years since middle school.
Beyond performing, I enjoy sharing music with others. I have volunteered at facilities serving children with disabilities, where I performed on the flute to create meaningful and enjoyable experiences. I have also had the opportunity to teach students how to play the flute, helping them build both confidence and a love for music.
One of my favorite musical experiences was performing in the pit orchestra for Mean Girls during my sophomore year. It taught me the importance of teamwork, adaptability, and supporting others behind the scenes. Whether performing in concert band, marching band, or for my community, music has shown me that it is more than just performance. It is a way to connect with others, bring joy, and make a positive impact.
